Go-Ahead secures the Fair Tax Mark for a fifth consecutive year

The Go-Ahead Group, one of the UK’s largest public transport operators, has once again achieved the Fair Tax Mark – an accreditation given to companies committed to paying appropriate corporation tax – marking five consecutive years of certification.

Only three FTSE 350 companies have ever been awarded the Fair Tax Mark, which reflects a commitment to conducting business open and fairly, with Go-Ahead the first to secure accreditation.

Research published by Fair Tax Mark has shown that approximately three quarters (74%)[1] of people support a call for companies of all sizes, to disclose the taxes they do and don’t pay in the UK.

Elodie Brian, Interim Group Chief Financial Officer at Go-Ahead, said: “We are delighted, once again, to be recognised for our ongoing commitment to operating our business ethically and paying our fair share of corporation tax.

“This is just one of the many ways in which Go-Ahead seeks to operate as a trustworthy and transparent business, working towards a better and fair society”

Paul Monaghan, Chief Executive, Fair Tax Mark said: “It’s great to see that Go Ahead have not only secured a further year of accreditation, but now provide additional disclosures in connection with their activities outside of the UK. The fact that Go Ahead say what they pay with such pride demonstrates their ongoing leadership in the area of responsible tax conduct.”

Go-Ahead will be supporting the Fair Tax Week, which will run from 6-14 July and celebrate organisations and companies who are proud to pay their proportion of corporation tax and who disagree with the use of tax havens and contrived tax avoidance practices.
